一、元旦節(jié)

       Collins COBUILD Advanced Learner's Dictionary 5th Edition是這樣說的：New Year's Dayis the first day of the year. In Western countries this is the 1st of January. 元旦節(jié)是新年的第一天。在西方國家，元旦節(jié)是一月一日。看來，“元旦”叫New Year’s Day（注意大寫）。順便說一下，“元旦”的前一天就是“元旦前夜”，它的英文說法是New Year's Eve.

 

 

二、跨年

     “跨年”就是滿懷期待地迎接新年的到來，我們來看看BBC是如何說“跨年”的：

【例】Most other countries usually hold public new year countdown parties.

countdown是“倒數(shù)計時”的意思，“跨年”就是new year countdown（新年倒數(shù)計時），是不是有滿懷期待的意思呢？
     順便說一下，“跨年演唱會”可以翻譯為new year countdown concert，模仿例句中的new year countdown parties。

     如果想說“我今天晚上跟朋友一起喝扎啤跨年。”就是I'm celebrating the new year countdown by drinking draft beer with my friends.用現(xiàn)在進行時表示將來發(fā)生的動作。

 

三、新年決心

    “新年決心”這個說法我們中文里原先是沒有的，是直接從英語直譯過來的，近些年越來越流行。“新年決心”叫New Year's resolution或New Year resolution（兩個都對，別糾結(jié)了）。
【例】I made a New Year resolution to give up smoking. 我的新年決心是戒煙。

 

 

四、新年祝福
    My wishes for you: Great start for Jan, Love for Feb, Peace for march, No worries for April, Fun for May, Joy for June to Nov, Happiness for Dec, Have a lucky and wonderful 2020.
祝你：1月良好開端2月有愛3月平安4月無憂5月歡樂6-11都喜悅12月好哈皮，2020幸運美好。

    Remember the laughter,the joy,the hard work,and the tears.And as you reflect on the past year,also think of the new one to come.Because most importantly,this is a time of new beginningsand the celebration of life.

記住你的笑，記住我們的快樂努力和淚水；回顧過去，期待未來；慶祝我們生命中又一個新的開始。

   Keep the smile,leave the tear,Think of joy,forget the fear,Hold the laugh,leave the pain,Be joyous ,Coz its new year!

   保持微笑，抹去淚水；忘記畏懼，心存歡愉；笑語長留，痛苦消弭；新年到來，萬事皆宜
