今天我們來學(xué)習(xí)這個俚語表達(dá):
Grapevine
Grapevine 是葡萄藤的意思，這樣名詞常常被用來描述小道消息，四處打聽來的有關(guān)的線索，這個跟我們中國有個成語“順藤摸瓜” 類似，指的就是找到線索就能知道真相。
常用的搭配： on the grapevine 或者是 through the grapevine 。
來看看這倆個句子：
1.Instead, check out the company' s reputation through the industry grapevine. 與其這樣做，不如通過行業(yè)的小道消息來了解這家公司的聲譽(yù)。 2.If what I've been told on the grapevine is right, if he's here, he'll come to the game on Sunday. 如果我打聽來的小道消息是正確的，他周日的比賽就將過來。
